The Virgin Islands, are located in the Caribbean Sea, at the high point of the curving archipelago that swings from Trinidad to Florida. When it comes to Caribbean sailing, there is nowhere better than the Virgin Islands (BVI) : it is one of the finest and safest yacht charter areas in the world with steady trade winds, plenty of sunshine year round and numerous sheltered harbors. The quiet coves where Drake, Columbus and Blackbeard used to anchor are once more havens for fleets of sailing vessels and the modern adventurers who come to explore the Virgin Islands. For those seeking to get away from it all, this is the place: there is no golf, no gambling, no major entertainment center, only sailing in the water with others seeking the same relaxing enjoyment, with charming local bars and restaurants on the various islands to share the passion. There is a deep sense of peace in the Virgin Islands one finds hard to forget, which keeps bringing the same people back over and over again. The waters are superb for swimming, snorkelling, diving and yacht charter. Most of the Virgin islands have a volcanic origin which gives character to the terrain.

Diving :
The Virgin Islands are recognized as one of the world's top diving and snorkelling spots with a vast array of colourful tropical fish at every anchorage and the wreck of the R.M.S. Rhone regarded by many as the best wreck dive in the western hemisphere.
Many professional dive shops provide complete services from equipment rental and air tank refills, to tours and instruction.

Yacht Charter in the Virgin Islands :
Tortola (BVI)
Road Town, the capital of the BVI's, is the centre of commerce, shipping and social activity. Tremendous development has taken place and it now boasts some of the most sophisticated nautical facilities in the Caribbean: Village Cay Marina is one of the full service marinas available in Road Harbour offering fuel, water, ice, provisioning, laundromat, shower facilities, beauty salon and spa. There is a fresh water pool and a waterfront restaurant and bar. The Marina Hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, all within short walking-distance of the government Administration Building, banks, shopping and other conveniences of the Road Town. Other marinas in Road Harbour include Fort Burt Marina and Inner Harbour Marina.
Nanny Cay is a peninsula jutting out fromm the south coast of Tortola. The Nanny Cay Marine Centre is a full service marina and boatyard with amenities including showers, water, gift shop, laundromat, ice and fuel, provisioning, storage lockers and two restaurants. There are also a dive shop, mechanical repairs, refrigeration, welding and 24 hour chase boat service.
West End is shown on the charts as Soper's Hole, a protected harbour lying between Frenchman's Cay and Tortola. The Soper's Hole Wharf and Marina offers a full range of services located in charming colorful houses. The two-story Pusser's Landing features waterfront dining in two restaurants and bars, an outdoor terrace and the company store.

St John (USVI)
Saint John has the reputation of being probably the most beautiful, friendly and tranquil island in the Caribbean with its less than 20 square miles in area.

Virgin Gorda (BVI)
Moorings are available and anchoring is possible all along the coast of Virgin Gorda. Or you can get a slip at the nearby Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour (a marina with docking for 110 vessels), where the ferry arrives for land travelers.
